Back from vacation

Image
Hello Etsy Fans, I am back from vacation and the visit with the grand babies.  Best time ever in California!! Here is Miles Henry: Here is Penelope Jay: They are the lights of my life! The shop is back online and I plan on adding many new items soon.  I have decided to re-vamp my photo process.  This has been taking some time.  I am doing more than just adjusting the exposure and editing.   I want to take better photos to enhance the items I have for sale. I would like to thank my customers who have taken their time and given me feedback on Etsy.  Folks have written letters, sent photos, paid it forward and even sent me a personal gift!  I really appreciate all the kudos and the 57 positive reviews.

Friends and Family

I have recently had some house guests, my cousin, Linda, and her husband from Iowa. Linda and Ron sell vintage and resale in their state, but not on Etsy. They do the craft fair, flea market, set up booth and sell at farmers markets. We both sell vintage just in a different venue. It occurred to me as we were out at thrift stores, shopping for bargains, and how differently we shop. She looks for old farm, primitive, antiques and I look for mid-century modern. She is drawn to old and rusty and I am looking for sleek, clean lines of Danish modern, Italian Pottery or any shiny-metal. Here is a picture of me when I visited her (Linda) in Iowa. Ah the corn belt, ah the farms, ah tractors, I can hear the theme song from Green Acres! How do you like that giant ear of corn? I collect pictures of myself on all vacations and give the photos to ,Bec, who loves "BIG" things. It is amazing how many Giant sculptures and such are along the highways of the USA. Take a road tri

I went to a Garden Party

I made a Treasury on Etsy for a Vesties Team Challenge. It is a fun collection of white garden items, some are vintage and some handmade. I love using vintage items in the garden as sculpture, as planters and as shabby chic junk decor. Our team gives us a weekly challenge to make a treasury list off a theme they designate. I think I captured this weeks challenge beautifully if I do say so myself! Here in my own garden I use structure and art to enhance my garden. A blue morning glory trails up a post. A handmade votive lantern designed with wire and beads. Bec's wedding was a great garden Party. As far as garden structure we used a recycled trampoline frame for the wedding Chuppa/Gazebo that they were married under. Let me know what vintage items or recycled products you use in your garden. I would love to hear from you.
