Hello Etsy Shoppers

It has been a while since my last post about the shop!
Many of you know that Becky is married, has 2 kids and a full-time job now so she has moved on from the shop.  She also literally moved to Wisconsin and I am so sad, I miss those grandkids. 

Life goes on and things change as does Etsy.  Etsy has really stepped up their game in marketing, I have even seen commercials on TV! 
 I hope all of you are well and like the look of the shop.  I changed a few things but our goal is the same: To sell fabulous mid-century items to you and to preserve pieces of history in the process.

I would like to feature a wonderful artist today. Adrien Miller is a potter, a painter and a sculptor. He is a visual artist and creates pottery and paintings of the human form. His studio is based in Seattle and is a member of the Etsy Recyclers Guild Team, as am I. I randomly chose his sculpture in a Treasury before I actually began talking to him for this interview. I liked his art as soon as I first set eyes on it! His sculpture is the lovely torso in the top row of the Treasury below. Blog Post ala' RetroChalet- Cindy

I wanted to give a shout out to Cindy at RetroChalet , she is what I call my "Wifey" and our two shops are "married" in spirit.  She is my Etsy mentor. Cindy has been so helpful to me, she's always ready to comment and critique the RetroBabs Vintage shop. Recently, we has a discussion about Titles and Tagging of items on Etsy. I had this item titled as a Red Apple Canister but Cindy came up with 20 other ideas for the title and tags.  Red Delicious and Cookie Jar to be the few that were excellent.  Her take on the issue was the fact that the more "HITS" one gets for an item -the greater the chance for a sale.  The Canister and Cookie jar folks might also include an apple collector and a lover of vintage.  The more ground you cover the more people you can reach. Etsy Recyclers Guild Team

I joined a new team on Etsy, it is called Etsy Recyclers Guild Team. They are a group of eco-artist and vintage shop owners, they believe in recycling, reuse, re-create, and repurposing.
