Featured in a blog-Ulixis Crafts

Image
http://www.ulixis.com/2011/12/my-christmas-wish-list-part-one.html One of our ReMix items the Swiss Chalet Clock-Plate was featured in a blog.  Uli from PaperUlixis collects those Swiss Chalet dishes by Marcrest.  It is always fun to be on someone's "Favorites List".  (Actually it is on her, "stuff I love" list)  I can relate to the dish fetish because I am addicted to atomic dishes- Temporama. This week one of our clock plates is being given as a birthday present.  This is the mid century modern plate that we ReMixed.  Now that makes me proud!!! We would like to thank Ulixis Crafts for the mention. Blessings Babs and Bec

This Ice Bucket is the perfect example, with its shiny surface and Lucite handle (also a new material of its time).  Kromex also used stainless steel in some of their groovy new products.  Aluminum was used in everything from dessert trays to furniture. It was a strong metal that could withstand weight and abuse. Many more uses than just cans for cola! Check out these aluminum chairs from the 1950s -Lurelle by Kensington which is another division of Alcoa. This souvenir tray is made out of aluminum but not by the...

RetroBabs Vintage and Remix is honored to be included in a great article about Upcycled Clocks.  In  the Etsy shop together with my daughter, Bec, we make ReMixed, Upcycled and Repurposed art work. Bec works on vintage fabric and I make Clocks out of Mid-Century modern Plates. We are very excited to be featured in the Handmadeology blog.  We love Tim and we are proud to be members of his team on Etsy.   We were so surprised when we went to our daily list of blog readings to find ourselves in a post from Cindy at RetroChalet about Upcycled clocks! The clock above is the Swiss Chalet pattern by Marcrest. This is the clock/plate featured in the article, Check it out -full article at RetroChalet's post!
