I would like to feature a wonderful artist today. Adrien Miller is a potter, a painter and a sculptor. He is a visual artist and creates pottery and paintings of the human form. His studio is based in Seattle and is a member of the Etsy Recyclers Guild Team, as am I. I randomly chose his sculpture in a Treasury before I actually began talking to him for this interview. I liked his art as soon as I first set eyes on it! His sculpture is the lovely torso in the top row of the Treasury below. 2 Chairs, Kensington, Lurelle Guild Aluminum, 1950s,Set

I would like to give a big shout out and thank you to Ira Mency for helping me design this new blog. I think it looks wonderful. What do you think?  Please comment and let me know. As I said in the beginning blogs when I started this thing I wanted to talk about mid-century modern furniture. I have these two Kensington Aluminum chairs and I would appreciate any comment or info anyone has about them.  The info i have found out so far is that they were from the 1950's and they were from Alcoa when aluminum was a "new metal". I found an old magazine ad about them. They two chairs that I have were purchased at a school  but they look pretty fancy for a students chair. So anyone out there that has info about these chairs let me know. They are for sale but I haven't decided on the price yet because they are so rare and unusual. Lurelle Guild, is that the designer, or design line????????

Blog Post ala' RetroChalet- Cindy

I wanted to give a shout out to Cindy at RetroChalet , she is what I call my "Wifey" and our two shops are "married" in spirit.  She is my Etsy mentor. Cindy has been so helpful to me, she's always ready to comment and critique the RetroBabs Vintage shop. Recently, we has a discussion about Titles and Tagging of items on Etsy. I had this item titled as a Red Apple Canister but Cindy came up with 20 other ideas for the title and tags.  Red Delicious and Cookie Jar to be the few that were excellent.  Her take on the issue was the fact that the more "HITS" one gets for an item -the greater the chance for a sale.  The Canister and Cookie jar folks might also include an apple collector and a lover of vintage.  The more ground you cover the more people you can reach.
