Adrien Art - Painting, Sculpture and Pottery by Adrien Miller

I would like to feature a wonderful artist today. Adrien Miller is a potter, a painter and a sculptor. He is a visual artist and creates pottery and paintings of the human form. His studio is based in Seattle and is a member of the Etsy Recyclers Guild Team, as am I. I randomly chose his sculpture in a Treasury before I actually began talking to him for this interview. I liked his art as soon as I first set eyes on it! His sculpture is the lovely torso in the top row of the Treasury below. Visit his Etsy shop, ADRIEN ART at : http://www.etsy.com/shop/AdrienArt?ref=pr_shop_more# His shop is filled with fantastic pottery, vessels bearing faces, torsos on tea pots and paintings of the human body. It is surely a magical place! I asked Adrien some questions about his Etsy experience. When and why did you start selling on Etsy? "I opened my Etsy shop on November 10th, 2009. I needed to do it. I make art with most of my time, and I was having an issue with not minding...

On Friday evening, March 12th, four members of the Chicago Vintage Etsy Society Street Team (Vesties) met at the home of RetroBabs. Their fearless leader, Martha, was the main attraction. Martha the owner of Open Door Studio   vintage shop, Julia of Basya Berkman vintage clothing and Lisa of A Blast from the Past   vintage shop were present. Wonderful VIOLET martinis were served compliments of Lisa! Here the ladies toast the success of Team Vesties which will soon have over 600 members! Babs put on a spread of homemade chicken salad, veggies with dip and cheese cake. The ladies appreciated Bab's vintage collection of atomic Starburst and Temporama dishes. The group chatted and visited around the table as they picked Martha's brain for Etsy knowledge and tips. She was a plethora of information! After a fantastic evening the ladies parted ways vowing to meet up again soon. Martha's dream is that other area groups within the Vesties Team will also meet up in person an...

Should I start a new shop?

Here is a question for you fellow bloggers: Should I start a new shop for my original art work and pottery?  I have had some members of my team suggest that I might want to consider separating my art work from the vintage.  ( RetroBabs Vintage & ReMix )  It might be better for me to have the fine art and vintage in two different areas.  I delve into many things from watercolors to pottery to making jewelry.  Here are some photos of my work.  Please comment and let me know what you think. I make these wheel thrown stoneware bowls. I make these pottery leaves and then make jewelry out of them. I make watercolor paintings of landscapes and flowers.  Some of these are framed and some are inside little vintage boxes. Some of these items do not fall under our REMIX category and are considered handmade original art. Please let me know what you think. I would appreciate any and all comments and thoughts.
